text taken from the poem "The Return of Spring"
by
The snow, dissolvd no more is seen,
The fields and woods, behold, are green;
The changing year renews the plain,
The rivers know their banks again;
The sprightly Nymph and naked Grace
The mazy dance together trace;
The changing years successive plan
Proclaims morality to Man.
Rough winters blasts to spring give way,
Then summer sinks in autumns rein,
And winter holds the world again.
The fields and woods, behold, are green;
The changing year renews the plain,
The rivers know their banks again;
The sprightly Nymph and naked Grace
The mazy dance together trace;
The changing years successive plan
Proclaims morality to Man.
Rough winters blasts to spring give way,
Then summer sinks in autumns rein,
And winter holds the world again.
